INTRODUCTION
1)CAUTION FOR GUARDIANSHIP : KEEP REVERSI AWAY FROM CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OLD TO AVOID CHOKING HAZARDS CAUSED BY THE SMALL PARTS.
2)COMPONENTS: 1 BOARD + 64 REVERSI PIECES CONTAINERS.
3) MATERIAL DESCRIPTION : THE BOARD (PS , SURFACED WITH IRON SHEET) ; THE CONTAINERS (PP) ; THE PIECES (PS , WITH MAGNET INSIDE).
RUDIMENTS OF REVERSI GAME PROGRAMMING
1) TO GET STARTED , CROSS 2 BLACK PIECES AND 2 WHITE ONES RESPECTIVELY IN THE MIDDLE FOUR AREAS OF THE BOARD (SEE PIC 1 ).THE BLACK PARTY WILL TAKE THE INTIAL.
2) THE PIECES SHOULD BE PLACED NEXT TO THE OPPONENT'S . THE SURROUNDED PIECES CAN BE ''CAPTURED''. IN ANOTHER WORD, WHEN SURROUNDING YOUR OPPONENT'S PIECE(S) , THE OPPONENT'S PIECE(S) SHOULD BE REPLACED BY YOUR PIECES.
3)THE TWO PARTIES WILL VOTE FOR THEIR PIECES BY TURNS AS THE GAME PROGRESSES. WHEN ONE PARTY DOES NOT GET AN AREA FOR THEIR PIECE BUT THERE ARE VACANT AREAS LEFT, THE OTHER PARTY WILL VOTE FOR HIS OR HER PIECE(S) INSTEAD.
4)WHEN THERE IS NO VACANT AREA LEFT ON THE BOARD , OR WHEN NEITHER OF THE PARTIES CAN WIN BY SURROUNDING THE OPPOSING PARTY'S PIECES, THEN THE PARTY WHOSE PIECES PREDOMINATE BY NUMBER WINS.
DEMOS:YOUR OPPONENT'S SURROUNDED PIECES CAN BE REPLACED WITH YOURS
1)SEE THE PIC 2 . SHOULD THE BLACK PARTY VOTES FOR AREA A , THEN THE 2 SURROUNDED WHITE PIECES WOULD BE REPLACED WITH BLACK ONES
2)SEE THE PIC 3. SHOULD THE WHITE PARTY VOTES FOR AREA B , THEN THE 7 BLACK PIECES IN THE 3 DIRECTION , NAMELY TRANSVERSE ,LENGTHWAYS AND DIAGONAL , WILL BE REPLACED WITH WHITE ONES BECAUSE OF THE PARTICULARITIES OF LINES AND ANGLES.
3)SEE THE PIC 4 . THE WHITE PIECES COULD NOT BE SURROUNDED ''DEAD''EVEN IF THE BLACK PIECE SHOULD BE PLACED IN AREA C , FOR THE WHITE PIECES ARE POSITIONED ALONG THE SIDE. LIKEWISE ,PIECES IN THE CORNERS OF THE BOARD WOULD ALSO NOT BE SURROUNDED ''DEAD'' . THEREFORE,SHOULD THE BLACK PIECES BE DROPPED IN AREA D , THE WHITE ONES IN THE CORNER WOULD NOT BE CAPTURED.
4)SEE THE PIC 5 . THE BLACK PARTY HAS GOT THE AREA E TO VOTE FOR . SHOULD THE BLACK PIECE BE DROPPED IN AREA E AND THE WHITE PARTY FILLS THE AREA F , THE OUTCOME WOULD WITNESS THE BLACK ONE BEING CAPTURED BY THE WHITE . THEREFORE , THE BLACK PARTY WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO VOTE FOR THE AREA E , WHEREAS , THERE ARE OTHER VACANT AREAS TO SURROUND THE OPPONENT'S PIECES , AND THE GAME IS STILL NOT OVER. THEREFORE ,FAVORABLE OR NOT, THE PARTY CANNOT ESCAPE FROM DROPPING HIS OR HER PIECE WHEN THERE'S AN AREA TO FILL ACCORDING TO THE RULE.
5)SEE THE PIC 6 . WHEN BOTH PARTIES ARE UNABLE TO CONTINUE TO VOTE FOR, THEN THE GAME WILL BE TERMINATED.
6) IF THERE IS A LEVEL GAP BETWEEN THE PARTIES , THEN WAYS OF REDUCING DIFFICULTY MIGHT BE APPLIED. THE WAYS ALTER FROM DIFFERENT LEVEL GAPS PLAYERS MAY PLACE ONE OR MORE PIECES IN THE CORNER(S) OF THE BOARD BEFORE STARTING THE GAME (SEE THE EXAMPLE IN THE PIC 7).
